Overview
After graduating from Deming High School in southern New Mexico, Ms. Wilcox attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in political science. After graduating from George Washington University, Ms. Wilcox returned to New Mexico and attended the University of New Mexico School of Law. Ms. Wilcox earned her Masters of Law in Taxation (“LL.M.”) from New York University, and subsequently returned to New Mexico to practice law.
Ms. Wilcox was named the Tax "Lawyer of the Year" for Tax law, for Albuquerque, New Mexico by Best Lawyers of America for 2014.
Ms. Wilcox continues to be “AV” rated for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability by Martindale-Hubbell National Lawyers Directory (“AV” is the highest rating available). She continues to be listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the categories of (i) Tax Law; (ii) Trusts and Estates Law; (iii) Litigation – Trusts & Estates; and (iv) Litigation & Controversy – Tax. Ms. Wilcox has also been honored by the Albuquerque Community Foundation, receiving the “Excellence in Charitable Gift Planning” award. She has lectured to numerous financial advisors, attorneys, accountants and others on tax and estate planning, business planning, charitable giving, planning related to qualified retirement benefits, and legal ethics. Wilcox & Myers, P.C. hosts an annual seminar attended by over one-hundred and fifty top legal and financial advisors in the community on current legal topics.
